Judge Cagle plays a part in annual ‘Night Court’ show
HBA show runs through Saturday and benefits local charities

HOUSTON – Judge R. Jack Cagle will play the role of “Daddy Lawbucks” in the Houston Bar Association’s Legal Holidays – this year’s version of the annual “Night Court” stage parody for charity.

The show is an original musical written and performed by local lawyers. Lawyers also work on the stage crew and in the orchestra.

Frequently, in previous years, judges and elected officials are either lampooned or they make special appearances in the show. Current events, politics, entertainment and, of course, the legal profession are fair game in the parody.

Judge Cagle, who presides in Harris County Civil Court-at-Law No. 1, has participated in the show for ten consecutive years.

The show runs June 9th through June 12th at the Wortham Center. Performances are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. There are two shows, including a matinee, on Saturday. Tickets are available at HBA.org or at the door.
